Fish Lake - Day 2

The actual start of Vacation!

Everyone was up bright and early that morning to get packed up and off to Fish Lake. It's super nice that it only takes a hour tops pulling campers to get there from my house. Since i had to work, Kaye decided to give the kids a taste of country life and joined me at work. I'm guessing it was a bit of culture shock for them with all the comments LOL. After work we headed up to Fish Lake to meet up with the rest of the family. We spent the afternoon setting up camp, fishing at the beach for yellow perch and roasting hotdogs and smores over the fire. Later that night, I took Kaye and her kids down to my house for the night. They had to be on the road back home the next morning.

Tattoos galore... my mom has always got something great for the kids. Last year it was butterfly nets. VERY cool Grandma!

Kaye behind the camera... always. Howerver, not complaining at all

Uncle Gary and his one eyed wookey dog

my dad teaching sam on how to pull apart worms...

...and Sam NOT liking it one bit!

Uncle Gary showing Daylon where fish are supposed to go

... showing Sam where worms should go

... and how to properly kiss a fish

The evening fishing for yellow perch with the kids... absolutely priceless

*sigh* i LOVE wednesdays

I love Wednesdays. They are my days. My one day a week i get to get out of the house. My one day a week i don't have to keep track of kids. My one day that i get real adult conversation and not 3 year old potty mouth and sassy mouthed conversation (well, there are those exceptions i guess. Gena, I'm sure you understand LOL). My one day a week where i can go and feel like I've had a productive day where there is a start, a middle AND a end and feel like i did my part to make it successful. I love the people I work with. I love the people I work for. I love the atmosphere. I love the camaraderie. And for just a moment or two i get to unwind. I look forward to Wednesdays. Wednesdays are good for my soul.

Most Wednesdays are typically the same. A day full of Big Jo (or is he Little Jo? or am i Little Jo? I'm confused) being his usually self but always bringing the humor that makes Wednesdays worth while and Scott making sure we can handle it. Hours spent catching up on the week with Gena. Lots of great small talk with the ladies in the office. The general back and forth joking with clients and associates (is that i should call them? the higher ups? the officials? or call them by what they are? the brand inspector, the vet, my boss(s)?)I went through the day doing what i do, enjoying my Wednesday. I come home to finish out the evening watching Rianne's softball game and couldn't figure out why people were cracking jokes about me "being released from the auction". I totally forgot that all the while i was sporting a nice big red"auction release" stamp on the back of my arm (thanks Chyrl LOL). And although i got the stamp of approval, apparently I'm not official cause he never signed it, even after i teased him about it. I guess i will be forever branded as propery of "R" Livestock... or at least until i washed it off last night (not that i mind working there forever).

So fitting for today

Because, after all, it is auction day. And he IS hilarious!

3BT:
~the quiet around me while the kids are in bed "starting the day over". Wishing i was there doing the same thing but thankful that i'm able to do a bit while they are not underfoot
~today is auction day. A day full of conversation with grown adults (although at times they act like children! LOL). Here's hoping that it'll be enought to last me another whole week.
~my extra long hot shower last night. I actually got bored, got out and still hot water. This double water heater thing just may work out. Now to get the jets in our jetted tub cleaned out and we'll actually have enough hot water to fill it and relax.
